Round 3 for eye surgery! Let's hope this one works. He was such a trooper. We had to be there at 10 and the surgery was scheduled for 11:10, but of course they didn't actually take him back for surgery until 12:00pm. He couldn't eat anything all morning or drink so I was a little worried that with him being older this would be more of an issue. It wasn't at all. He never once asked me for something to eat. Let's just say that those who were praying for me, thank you! It could of been a very long morning. He played the whole time in our little room and when I sat with him in the OR as the put him under he never once cried or acted nervous. Waking up after the surgery was a totally different story. He woke up very angry and tried to pull out his IV. They just ended up taking it out. He was screaming for a good 10 minutes and then I finally got him to sleep for another 30 minutes. He then started to stir a little so I tried getting him dress but he was still so out of it that he started to rip off his clothes. We did make it to the car and home without any major tantrums and he ended up sleeping for two hours once we got home and then he was back to his normal self. He is trying to to milk the surgery still and when he is about to get in trouble with something he will say "Mommy, my eye! My eye hurts!" We got back to the doctor on April 1st for a check up.
