This is by far my favorite picture of my husband! I mentioned in another post that Chris had an 6 hour race on Kyle's birthday. He had not done a race in a really long time and he was really looking forward to this race. He had trained hard, but told me he wasn't going to push it during the race. I know Chris pretty well so I just nodded my head and said "ok!" I knew that Chris isn't capable of not pushing it during a competition, especially one that involves a mountain bike. He is a natural on the mountain bike. He knows how to handle himself and is very comfortable. This race was a little over a 10 miles loop race. There were several guys he knew that were racing so he went up early and set up tents on the course so they could stop each lap for more liquid, food, change of shirts, or bike repairs. Me and the boys got up there right before it started and the big boys thought the whole thing was pretty cool. It was brutally hot that day, I mean HOT! The goal of the race was to see how many laps they could do before sunset. We watched his first two laps, left for dinner and then saw his last two laps. He completed five laps and over 50 miles. He placed 7th and that was him not pushing himself.

They started the race by having them run from a starting line to their bikes they were lined up on the race course. The boys were in charge of handing him his stuff.

After seeing Chris go by we had a while until we saw him again so the boys made their own fun which included lots and lots of dirt and rocks. The Honeycutt's were there also supporting their dad, Tracy. Connor had so much fun having friends to hang out with.

Kyle was a tropper hanging out all day. So proud of you Chris! You did a great job, I love seeing how happy racing makes you!
