"Winter" Break

Last week we had our winter break. I say winter break, but it is feeling very much like spring down here and has for a couple of weeks. We are loving it! I had planned on going to Dave and Kate's for a couple of days by myself, but last minute Chris found out he had three extra vacation days to take so we used our vacation package that we have a got a place in Destin, FL. We left on Tuesday and first went to see the Van Yperen's and spent the night at their house. The boys had a funny playing with their cousins. The next day we headed to Destin and we arrived at our place and let's just say it was bad, and that is putting it lightly. After a VERY long conversation with our place that we booked with we ended up with a different place that was just perfect. It was a great get away and much needed! It was nice to get away from the usual routine even though when you vacation with young kids it is still a lot of work. Here are a ton of pictures of our time. We had great weather!

Hanging out with the John and Adam!

Checking out the beach when we first arrived. Connor was so excited about the beach.

Taking a walk on the beach...look at that cute little man!

Breakfast on our balcony over looking the ocean! We had glass doors leading out to our balcony and on more than one occasion Connor would walk right into the closed door thinking it was open. It became quite funny. He would walk into it and say "Oh, oops! Sorry!"

There even was a heated pool, which they loved.

Me and my boys. We went exploring one afternoon and found some really fun places. Hanging out on the beach in the evening playing some football.
Love these two pictures of my boys!
Chris always adds some excitement to our trips by playing in the ocean with them and let me tell you the ocean was not warm, but they had a blast wave jumping. Yes, in their clothes.
Our sandcastle that was built with much thought and consideration. You can't see all of it, but we had a lot of rivers and pools. On our last evening we checked out Sanddestin and walked around their and then headed to a restaurant on the water for some dinner. It was a great way to end the trip. It is now back to reality!
