This past Friday was our 2nd annual Pine Wood Derby. This was Noah's second time and Owen's first. Chris had double the pressure and just like last year he was working on the final touches up to the last minute. The night before the cars needed to be turned in Chris ran into some major problems and it wasn't looking too good, but he pulled it off an hour before the cars needed to be registered. Chris loves this stuff and puts a lot of pressure on himself to build a winning car. The boys can't help to much, or maybe it is Chris doesn't want them to yet : )! Each boy did do some of the work and choose their colors. Noah had Auburn colors and Owen had Falcon colors. There was a lot of excitment on Friday night and I am happy to say they both won their heat, but didn't place in the top five. Chris was happy and so were the boys. They were already talking about what to do next year. Oh, we have so many more years of derby racing!

Kyle enjoying all the excitment and there is a ton of excitment! As you can tell from the picture below.

The boys enjoying the races from the sidelines. When they went to race our neighbor who is in fifth grade got all the boys to chant their names and cheer for them. Owen said "Did you hear them all cheering for me!"

Noah and Owen couldn't be more different in these situations! Noah is all animated and excited and Owen didn't crack a smile, he was all serious.

Chris enjoying our post race celebration at Cold Stone!

Dad said it's all about graphite. But.... you seem to have a lot more competition with the boys than when you raced and won.
