Baseball Comes to an End

The Wolverines ended up winning their district so we headed up to the state tournament in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. It is right outside Chattanooga, TN so we ended up staying two night in a hotel with the whole team in Chattanooga. It was a long and exciting weekend.
Connor wasn't there when they got their district trophies so he was excited to get his once we got home from the beach. During practice this week Kyle's obsession grew even more. He know wants his own bag to carry all of his stuff and he has changed his name to Resse, who is one of the players on the team.
After practice one night we all headed out for ice cream. These crazy kids are just such good kids.
We were all excited about heading to states and kicking some butt!
We got there Friday afternoon and had our first game that evening, which we won. The boys thought staying in a hotel with the whole baseball team was the coolest thing. Kyle got so excited everytime we saw of the boys in the hotel and he would yell for them. Kyle has turned into the teams mascot!
What's more fun then swimming with all of your teammates?
It was a hot weekend! The boys did so well and kept on wining!

By Sunday afternoon Kyle finally couldn't take it anymore. Everyone was in shock that he actually was sleeping. He cheered the during all the games and got so excited. They ended up giving him a game ball with all of their names on it and he carries that thing around everywhere.

Connor all season long was pretty even about winning and losing. Not much emotion either way. After one lose this weekend he just started to cry. They had lost against this team three times and he wanted to beat them so badly. I loved finally seeing this emotion and passion. Even with that one lose that still meant we had to come back Monday night for some more. I will say after spending the weekend away playing baseball I am not sure I could do much of that kind of baseball. We were exhausted. Well, we headed back up Monday night. They played hard, but ended up losing and getting knocked out of the tournament. The team ended up 6th in the state. Not too bad!

Baseball is over and it was a great experience, but looking forward to the break. After the game Chris left with Connor and Kyle to head up to NJ. They drove through the night and got up their safely. I am now home alone for the next five days!
