Saturday was a lazy rainy day. That evening we dropped off the two younger ones with the Holcomb's and we took Noah and Owen out for wings, nachos and March Madness at Taco Mac. This was part of Noah's birthday celebration. The little ones stayed over night at the Holcombs so we got to spend the whole night just hanging out with the two bigger ones. It was fun to just be with them.
Sunday was nice so the Holcomb's came over for a cookout and we tried out the fire pit in our backyard for the first time. We had some trouble getting it started, but it finally got going and we all enjoyed smores and just relaxing by the fire.
Monday afternoon we enjoyed the perfect weather with a hike by Buford Dam!
On Wednesday Grammy and Great Gram arrived from Connecticut and Chris and I took off that afternoon for a two night get away to Nashville, TN. He had to visit a couple of dealers so I went along and we got to have some fun along the way. It was just so great to get away, just the two of us. It was a much needed break.
We got to Nashville pretty late on Wednesday. After we had dinner we headed to The Bluebird Cafe. I was so excited to just see it. Not only are we huge country music fans we also love the show Nashville so it was exciting to be there, but of course it was sold out. Oh well! The next morning while Chris had his meeting I walked around Vanderbilt and then we headed to our new hotel, checked in and went for a hike.
We found a pay phone and of course we had to take a picture.
After our hike we headed to downtown to tour the famous Ryman Auditorium. It was beautiful and so cool to be where so many famous singers have performed. Next we hit the main strip with all the bars, restaurant and live music. We had dinner at a BBQ place and listened to some really great music. After dinner we just continued to walk around and explore.Sunday I went to the work and the rest of them went out for breakfast, got haircuts and did some shopping. The rest of the day was pretty low key as everyone was pretty tired.
It was sad to have spring break to come to an end. Waking up this morning was a little rough, but we are getting back into the swing of things. Only 7 more weeks left of school!
