This year we had a mini fall break. It was great timing. Everyone needed a break from the school routine and I needed to get away! Lucky for us Chris just had to visit his beach accounts during the same time! We arrived Wednesday night at Myrtle Beach and were surprised that we got upgraded to a two bedroom suite with an ocean view. Thanks to Chris and his Hilton rewards. We spent two nights and one full day at Myrtle Beach and the weather was beautiful! We spent all day on the beach and in the lazy river at the hotel. It was the first time in a long time that I have been at the beach with no one in diapers and no one needed my full on attention. It was nice!
They did a lot of wave jumping and boogie boarding.
Relaxing in the lazy river. We sure did make a scene when we arrived at the pool. The poor people just trying to relax didn't know what hit them when these four showed up!
Kyle didn't quite fit!
That evening we walked on the longest East Coast Pier, got dinner and hit the board walk!
Friday morning we left Myrtle Beach and made a stop in Charleston where I thought we would see the cute city and walk around. Instead we ended up at the Yorktown and taking a tour. I guess that is what I get for having all boys :)!
After our stop in Charleston we headed to Hilton Head and got there late at night. We got up early the next morning and rented some bikes and headed out for a bike ride through Sea Pines.
Someone was so tired after too many days of fun! The two older boys thought they were pretty cool with their rental bikes and baskets.
We grabbed something to eat before we left Hilton Head and headed to Savannah for our final stop. We checked into our hotel and then headed to our friends house, the Snipes, for dinner. The older boys were so happy to see their friends. They even got to spend the night with them. It was a great way to end our trip.
It was a great trip with lots of quick visits here and there. It was so nice to get away for awhile, but I have to admit staying in a hotel with four boys can be challenging. Every time we checked into a new hotel room the excitement was just to much to handle. They had to jump on the beds and check out everything in the room and in the hotel. Don't even get me started on the excitement that a free breakfast buffet does to four boys! I have never seen them eat so much. Good thing it was free :)! It wasn't the most relaxing trip, but what trip is with four children! It's all about making memories...right?
