Two Week Road Trip!

We just got back from a two week road trip to NJ and CT. We have such a long Christmas break so we took advantage of it and left on December 27th at 4am to head north. I have a ton of pictures and I will let the pictures tell the story!
On our first day in NJ we headed into the city. It was such a pretty day and it wasn't too cold so the boys insisted we ride on top of the ferry.

Our first stop was Bryant Park. The boys were fascinated by how tall some of the buildings were. The city was extremely busy.
Next we explored the beautiful NY Library. We also went to Grand Central Station.
We also went to Times Square and we got to see lots of interesting things. Noah loves all the action. The next day we headed to Grammy's house in CT where we ended up getting 8 inches of snow. The boy were in heaven!

Kyle could hardly walk!

We spent Saturday night there and most of Sunday. Sunday afternoon we headed to Madison, CT to surprise Noah's friend Colleen that moved to CT this past summer. It was so much fun to surprise her and she was REALLY surprised.

We left Noah there for the night and we headed to Grampie and Nana's for the next couple of days and the boys sure did have fun!
The boys wanted to be in the snow at all times and Emily was more than happy to do the same. Grampie attached the sled to the golf cart and for the next three days they got pulled around. It was so funny to watch them get pulled as the three dogs would chase them the whole time.

It was cold, but Kyle loved being in the snow and checking out the animals. He didn't like the horses or cows because he said they were scary, but loved the sheep and chickens.

Coming in for a break, just enough time to let things dry before heading out for more. Oh to be a kid again!
The second evening we were there Chris took the kids out for some night sledding and snowball fights. Each kids had a head lamp and they were in heaven. It was also New Year's Eve so we celebrated by playing games and setting the clock ahead so we could get the kids to go to bed earlier.

More sledding!
Connor missed his bike so much that he borrowed one of Emily's and tried out snow riding and loved it. He rode and rode and crashed and crashed!
The found this Springfield hat and Noah claimed it as his own.
Kyle finally decided he wanted to try out sledding and loved it!
Chris joined Connor for some snow biking. He was loving it.

We also got to go through Chris' grandfather's old WWII stuff. It was pretty fascinating. Owen tried on part of his uniform. On Wednesday we had lunch with Grammy and then headed to NJ. The next two days were spent relaxing. The boys were so tired from going and going so it was nice to just relax. We left on Saturday morning but stopped in Washington DC to see Dave, Kate, John and Adam. We spent two hours walking around the monument mall. Very fun!
All the boys at the Washington Monument.
Checking to see if the President was home.

The WWII memorial was very cool.
Lincoln Memorial

After we left DC we drove to Apex, NC to spend the night with our friends the Troast and then finished up our drive on Sunday. We were all ready to get home, but had such a great trip. The boys are back at school today and things are starting to get back to the normal routine!
