Papa Turns 60!

My parents are down for Christmas and it has been a busy couple days of baking, organizing everything for Christmas and spending time with family. My dad turned 60 on Sunday and he took all of us out (minus the little ones) to the Melting Pot for dinner. It was a great to be together, share some of our favorite stories about our dad and have him give us some words of wisdom. We sat and ate dinner for three hours! At the end of the night we presented him with our gift...a new bike. He used to be a avid runner until he had back surgery about 5 years ago. He is now into biking so we just happen to have some connections in the bike world so we got him a new bike with a commuter pack so he can bike to work. It was a great night! One of my favorite words of wisdom he gave us really hit home especially during this busy time of year. Time keeps getting faster and faster as you get older and if we are constantly focusing on our to do list it goes even faster always trying to move to the next thing. Slow down and invest in people and building relationships. It makes things in life just slow down a bit. Those weren't his exact words, but it is what I got out of it and for me I am always focusing on my to do list that my relationships get pushed off to the side! It was a great night! Above is us eating at The Melting Pot and then presenting the bike to my dad. Happy 60th Birthday Dad! We love you!
